How do nanoparticles work?
What exactly are human rights and why are they the cause of so much debate?
Can babies and small children really understand what adults are thinking?
These questions – and many more – will be adressed using the latest scientific insights at The Danish Science Festival (Forskningens Døgn).
The Danish Science Festival is an annual week-long festival taking place from 23 April to 29 April 2021.
This year you can choose between hundreds of talks and topics from more than 200 dedicated scientists.
Even though the festival is Danish many of the talks will be presented in English, and due to COVID-19 all of the lectures will take place online.
The deadline for booking a scientist ends 31 March 2021.

Fear memories
Many people are affected by fear memories throughout their lives.
In the lecture ’Fear memories, Pavlov’s dog and brain plasticity – how do they work together?’ ph.d. Mikhail Paveliev from Aarhus University will discuss research about how long-lasting memories are formed and stored in our brain.
Human rights
How do human rights ideas function legally in institutions? And how do they fit our current political climate?
In the talk ’Human Rights: What are they and why are we having such a hard time with them?’ Ben Dorfman, associate professor of Intellectual and Cultural History at Aalborg University, will discuss the philosophy of human rights and the challenges it's facing in our modern society.
Future landscape
What are nanoparticles and how have they contributed to our society? And which impact will nanoparticles have on our lives in the future?
These topics and more will be covered by ph.d. Susan Cooper from the University of Copenhagen in her talk ’Nanoparticles: The Pallete to Paint our Future Landscape’.
How do I order a talk?
If a talk has caught your attention head on over and book it at the Forskningens Døgn website.
In order to book a talk you must:
- Contact the scientist within the following week
- Arrange a technical setup (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.)
- Ensure that a minimum of 20 people attend the lecture and preferably more.
